Medical Physics and Technology Medical Physics and Technology is an interdisciplinary field that integrates nuclear science and medicine, spanning key areas such as radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and medical imaging. This program is dedicated to addressing the shortage of qualified professionals both domestically and internationally. Our teaching team brings together university faculty, hospital-based clinicians, and industry mentors, who collaborate to deliver a rigorous and coherent curriculum while strengthening handson clinical training. This integrated approach equips students with a solid foundation in medical physics and technology and supports their long-term professional development.

 

Curriculum Offerings

Core curriculums mainly include: Radiation Therapy Physics, Radiobiology, Radiochemistry, Radiation Dosimetry, Radiation Protection, Radiation Detection, Medical Statistics, Medical Imaging and Dissertation.

Elective courses include: Nuclear Medicine, PET Imaging, Molecular Imaging, Nuclear Electronics, Accelerator Physics and Technology, Foundations on Deep Learning Methods, Deep Learning for Medical Imaging, and Clinical Practicum of Medical Physics, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging, etc.

The Medical Technology program at the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and drawing on its experience in Sino-foreign cooperative education, is fully dedicated to building a high-end talent training system featuring medicine-engineering interdisciplinary integration and internationalization.
