主讲人介绍

      Prof. Marcus’ field of research is surface chemistry, surface electrochemistry, and corrosion science, with emphasis on the understanding of the structure and properties of metal and alloy surfaces. Prof. Marcus has published over 400 papers in international scientific journals in the areas of corrosion science, surface chemistry and electrochemistry, surface analysis, and materials science, plus three books: “Corrosion Mechanisms in Theory and Practice” , “Analytical Methods in Corrosion Science and Engineering” and "Molecular Modeling of Corrosion Processes". He has given over 150 invited lectures at International Conferences. He serves or served on the Editorial Board of five major journals in Electrochemistry and Corrosion. 

      Prof. Marcus was President of the European Federation of Corrosion (from 2008 to 2012), and Chairman of the Electrochemical Materials Science Division of the International Society of Electrochemistry. He is currently Chairman of the EFC Working Party on Surface Science and Mechanisms of Corrosion and Protection, Chairman of the Europe Section of the Electrochemical Society, Chairman of the International Steering Committee for the European Conferences on Applications of Surface and Interface Analysis, and President of the French Corrosion Society (CEFRACOR). He is a member of the Board of Administration of the European Federation of Corrosion, and Head of the Paris Office of EFC.

讲座介绍

       宏观尺度下的材料腐蚀失效,其腐蚀进程却在纳米尺度下的材料表面发生。因此纳米尺度的金属表面腐蚀研究是研发多用途工程金属材料,改善金属腐蚀进程控制的关键科学课题。

      本讲座并将以新型复杂合金的钝化和局部抗腐蚀的最新进展为例,重点介绍金属和合金腐蚀与防护的表面分析研究方法。此方法综合合了多种先进表面分析技术(XPS、ToF-SIMS、STM)与电化学测量,通过表面分析和电化学技术深入研究复杂合金的腐蚀行为。

      Corrosion-induced failures of materials are observed at the macroscopic scale, but corrosion processes are surface processes taking place at the nanoscale.

      Understanding corrosion of metal surfaces at nanometric scale is a key to a better design and an improved control of engineering metals used in several industrial sectors.

     This talk will focus on a surface science approach of corrosion and protection of metals and alloys, which will be exemplified by recent data on passivation and resistance to localized corrosion of new compositionally complex alloys. 

     The presented data will be based on the application of advanced surface analytical techniques (XPS, ToF-SIMS, STM) combined with electrochemical measurements .

     An approach based on surface analytical and electrochemical techniques to investigate the corrosion behaviour of compositionally complex alloys.
