Abstract:
The design and implementation of an automatic crystal growth system will be introduced. Pr3+ single doped and Pr3+ and Mg2+ co-doped congruent LiNbO3 (CLN) single crystals were grown using the crystal growth system. For the first time, persistent luminescence (PersL) was found in Pr3+ and Mg2+ co-doped CLN excited by ultraviolet and X-ray. A serial of experiments have been performed to explore the mechanism of PersL and the Mg2+ ion wasproved to play a key role.
