Abstract:

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is expected to play a significant role in addressing outstanding questions regarding neutrino properties, including the neutrino mass ordering and the precise determination of neutrino oscillation parameters. After more than ten years of continuous effort, the JUNO detector, equippedwith a 20-kiloton liquid scintillator target and more than 20,000 20-inch PMTs, began operation in August 2025. This seminar will present the initial detector performance results, along with the first oscillation analysis based on the initial 59-day dataset.

About the speaker：

I graduated from the University of Tokyo in 2021. After obtaining the Ph.D. degree, I joined the JUNO experiment as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I joined the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear and Technology at Sun Yat-sen University in July/2025 as a tenure-track assistant professor and continue working on the JUNO experiment.
